INTRODUCING THE BEST OF THE WASHED UP... WELCOME TO THE PRIDE X LUG ALL-STAR SERIES 2022. 

The LUG is full of amazing players, but some players really seem to stand out. 

We are proud to announce LUG All-Star Series for the 2021/22 LUG Hockey Season, where we highlight some of the best of the worst to lay it all out on the ice. Each division will be hosting their own LUG All-Star Game, where the top PLUGs will come together to show off their skills. 

This year’s LUG All-Star event is in partnership with Pride Tape. Pride Tape will be helping us share the love of hockey and sports while we campaign for better diversity, inclusivity, and equality in sports.

LUG ALL-STAR WEEK, PRESENTED BY PRIDE TAPE

While LUG games aren’t televised nationwide like the NHL (yet), we believe the experiences, activities and events we have should be treated like the world is watching. What we do on the ice, whether you’re a player, coach, or fan, will reverberate into who we are in the community. 

We will kick things off with the LUG All-Star Games presented by Pride Tape as we strive for better inclusivity, accessibility, and change in the world of sports.

• Pride Tape will be made available for players to use during the game. We encourage players to use the tape for the ASG and any other time you want.

• We encourage players to make a post on their social media featuring their Pride Tape.

• We encourage players to tell a personal story regarding inclusivity in sport using #LUG4CHANGE and #HockeyIsForEveryone

Although LUG All-Star Week spans only a portion of the season, we want everyone to know that this initiative for change reaches to the point where we don’t need to advocate for inclusivity anymore - however long it takes. We will continue to encourage players to show their support throughout this season, and the next, and the next…

HOW TO NOMINATE A PLAYER 

We encourage you to nominate your teammates, or yourself to participate in the upcoming LUG All-Star events. To nominate a player in your division to play in the All-Star Game, fill out THIS FORM!

NOMINATE A PLAYER

• A LUG “All-Star” does NOT have to be the “best” player on the team. They could be a great teammate, an ultimate bench personality, or just overall deserve to be considered a LUG All-Star!

• Unlimited nominations. The more nominations, the better the case for being named to the ASG...

• LUG has final discretion for the official roster. Not all nominations guarantee participation. 

TELL YOUR STORY

As we make our effort to further the conversation regarding inclusivity in sport, we want to take this opportunity to hear your own personal stories and experiences. 

The goal of these stories is to showcase what the current or pervious states of inclusive sporting environments is or has been, and what can be done as we move forward to make sports a more inclusive space for individuals all over the world.

Whether you would like to have your story shared online for people to read, or if you just want to tell someone about your experiences, we encourage you to be open and submit your story.
