WELCOME BACK TO GREATEST HOCKEY LEAGUE IN THE WORLD

It feels oh so good to be back. 

When we started LUG way back in 2009 we did it so that hockey players had another way to keep playing the game they loved. It made zero sense that after lacing up 6-7 times a week through high school that when we got to college or university there was basically no way to keep playing puck, especially at a competitive level. Fast forward to 2023-24 and LUG Hockey brings together 10,000+ hockey players as the largest student hockey league in the world. This season, we're dropping pucks in 50+ cities, more states and provinces than ever before and have a HUGE season planned for you.   

Whether you're a pond hockey legend, a retired Jr. B vet, a club player looking to ride the bench with your best pals who have stone mitts, a washed up AAA tendy, or just a locker room legend who brings the morale and the vibes...we're here for you with another MASSIVE season of LUG Hockey. 

Before we get down to the details...we have a MAJOR announcement that quite honestly is a long time coming.

This season, we are happy to announce that every team is going to be kitted out from top to bottom with MATCHING SOCKS. Throw away those dusty skate guard wraps and toss on some of the most epic, lightest, speediest looking socks of your post "I'm in my prime" career.

• GAMES: 13 Guaranteed games (12 regular + 1-4 playoffs)

THE WAG CUP 

The WAG Cup Championship Tournament brings together the champions from LUG leagues across multiple divisions to compete in a Memorial Cup style tournament to crown the regional champion. Teams can expect to travel to games across state, provincial, or national lines. 

WAG Cup Tournaments take place in March in Canada and April in the U.S. Complete locations, participating divisions, and dates/times of tournaments are released after the season starts and skill divisions have been finalized.

HOW TO REGISTER

• Register a Team - Captain's create a team and invite their players to join their team
• Register as a player - Players join the team with an invite from their captain
• Register as a Free Agent - Join the free agent pool and get placed on a team by LUG 
• Register a Small Group - Join the small group pool and play with your friends. LUG will join groups together

HOW MUCH SPACE IS THERE?

Spaces are limited and are first, come first serve. With facility capacity nearly full, ice slots are extremely scarce so we strongly recommend signing up early to ensure a spot. 

WHAT SKILL LEVELS CAN I PLAY?

• LUG offers divisions for multiple skill levels including College Elite | A | B | C | D | W1 | W2 and Adult A | B
• Teams join LUG in their city and select their skill level. Divisions are formed after registration closes. 
• Women can play in ANY division

TEAM SIZES

• 15 players (14F + 1 G) minimum required per team
• Each person pays their individual registration fee. Teams are required to pay a minimum of 15 player fees. 

WHY SHOULD YOU SIGN UP ON REGISTRATION DAY?

• Spaces sell out
• Registration discounts only work on registration day
• Jerseys are distributed to teams in the order teams sign up.

WHAT TO DO NEXT?

• Build your roster so you have 15 players or your small group ready. Free agents can join the Free Agent pool.
• Get your gear to campus so you're ready to play when the season starts
• Ask around to find a team or start creating one!
