LUG started as a way for young adults to keep playing the sport they loved in recreational and competitive settings long after minor sports programming ended. From our original roots as a small 6 team hockey league, we have grown into one of the largest adult sports leagues with over 20,000 players across 50+ cities.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Our Head Office team is looking for someone who understands brand development and how to tell a good story. As a social media and content creator you will be responsible for the creation and delivery of highly engaging, on trend content for the Team. You’ll be required to ideate, plan, and edit content that will increase the audience and interaction on our managed channels and the traffic and loyalty on our channels.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an individual well-versed in the world of TikTok, Instagram, and Email content creation with a strong understanding of the landscape of each platform. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert on content creation and will lead the charge on best-in-sport, short-form content creation for the LUG across platforms including TikTok, Snapchat, IG story, email, and website.
HOW YOU’LL DO IT:
Oversee TikTok/Social content planning and creation for daily publishing with an emphasis on current TikTok trends and adapting moments and storylines around the LUG
Monitor performance of posts to inform publishing and content strategies and identify attributes that lead to successful posts
Collaborate with internal departments to identify opportunities for content that can be optimized into a format that fits the platform
Monitor the sports industry, teams, leagues, broadcaster and athlete accounts to identify trends, best practices, new audiences and new ideas
Research and develop relationships with influencers to drive engagement and reach new audiences.
Draft messages, emails, develop creative to support the distribution of key messages supporting LUG league planning, sales, and marketing initiatives.
You will be responsible for the ideation, shooting and editing of highly engaging and channel optimized video content, designed to excite and attract new audience to both our existing and emerging channels.
Work to tight deadlines and edit delivery timelines, ensuring quick execution to maximise opportunities for the Teams channel output.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2 years of social media content production, preferably vertical content ideation, development and creation
- Thorough understanding of the TikTok landscape and TikTok-specific strategies and best practices
- Immersed in TikTok. Platform requires intimate familiarity with trends, tools, formats and sound libraries
- Experience with video editing tools including, but not limited to; Adobe Premiere, CapCut, ClipPro, iPhone editing apps
- Possesses creative copywriting and community management skills
- Ability to come up with creative ideas and then be able to execute them
- Knowledge of and a passion for LUG, sports, its players, with an ability to translate the story of the game into captivating short-form content
- Has strong attention to detail and commitment to superb execution.
- Independent worker who can produce on limited guidance and work through ambiguity.
- Works well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where initiative, leadership, influence, and flexibility are drivers for success.
