JOIN OUR TEAM: LEAGUE SCHEDULER
keep the dream alive. It’s a simple statement that means so much to the thousands of players in the LUG all over the US and Canada. LUG was originally started as a way for students to have the opportunity to play more sports and activities with their friends. After getting to campus as a 1st year or freshman, finding out what extracurricular activities are available, especially with sports, can be tough. When you graduate, move to a new city, you’re not done playing sports. That’s where LUG comes in.
From our original roots, LUG is a competitive, recreational and fun campus league, with multiple divisions representing 50+ cities and over 20,000 players across North America. With our strong community, and focus on both the on-ice/field/diamond and off ice/field/diamond experience, LUG is the only ticket our students and alumni need for their sport and social needs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
LUG Sports Group is seeking a detail-oriented and passionate individual to become the next team member as our League Scheduler owning the schedule creation, match-up management and oversight.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently looking for someone to own scheduling across LUG Sports. This means managing and supporting the sports schedules that our players live by throughout the year. We need someone to lead our efforts to provide the first class experience that our members expect whether they’re playing in a hockey league in Toronto, Canada, a Softball league in Tucson Arizona or any of our other sports in any city. This individual will provide leadership and work closely with our facilities partners, Campus Commissioners, Game Day Staff, Time Keepers, Officials and other contractors to help ensure smooth and consistent league operations via a well thoughtout and understood schedule. They will meet and/or exceed established targets and make excellent decisions based upon analysis, knowledge, experience, and sound judgment.
They must “understand the bottom line” and effectively create a schedule that is well planned with a keen understanding of variables like holidays, special events, skill levels, facility quality and timing - with what the implication of that schedule means for each team. When we say understanding the bottom line, we mean the bottom line for players, which translates into games that are scheduled well in advance, fair allotments of game times, solid competition levels and quality facilities. The bottom line for our customers are games that exceed expectations with no hiccups along the way.

- Adjust for competitive skill divisions as needed.
- Work with teams during the season to adjust schedules based on conflicts, cancellations or other Ad-Hoc situations as they arise.
- Work with teams during season to prevent defaults and ensure game swaps and/or fill-in teams are identified and added to schedule.
- Track schedule creation against contract agreement for consistency while working with the LUG Operations team to adjust facility requirements based on schedule needs.
